Flash Labs > Lab 6: Sound

Overview

Since the last lab was on the more complex side, this week's lab is short and fun. You will add a sound to your movie.

Goals

Learn how to add sound.

Example

There is a scary woosh sound when the palette opens.

Steps

Optional: Download the working files for this lab

1. Copy the .fla file from Lab 5 in to a new folder called Lab 6. Rename the file yourname_lab6.fla. Open this new file in Flash.

2. Find an MP3 or WAV sound that you like. Add it to the Lab 6 folder. Then choose File > Import to link the song to your Flash document.

3. Find a place where you would like the song to play. At that location, create a new keyframe. Then drag the sound file from the Library (located under Window > Library) and drop it on the timeline at the keyframe you created. You'll be able to see the waveform on the timeline so you can see the duration of the clip.
